  10. and said to them, “I see that your father does not regard me with favor as he did before. But the God of my father has been with me.
  11. If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God saw my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.”
  12. And Jacob said, “O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,’
  13. “When we went back to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
  14. Then your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons.
  15. “Now therefore, as soon as I come to your servant my father, and the boy is not with us, then, as his life is bound up in the boy's life,
  16. For your servant became a pledge of safety for the boy to my father, saying, ‘If I do not bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame before my father all my life.’
  17. For how can I go back to my father if the boy is not with me? I fear to see the evil that would find my father.”
  18. And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed at his presence.
  19. Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me; do not tarry.
  20. You must tell my father of all my honor in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. Hurry and bring my father down here.”
  21. Jacob's Family Settles in Goshen

    So Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, “My father and my brothers, with their flocks and herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan. They are now in the land of Goshen.”
  22. And Joseph said to his father, “Not this way, my father; since this one is the firstborn, put your right hand on his head.”
