    And the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
  15. So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, along with the child, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
  16. When the water in the skin was gone, she put the child under one of the bushes.
  17. Then she went and sat down opposite him a good way off, about the distance of a bowshot, for she said, “Let me not look on the death of the child.” And as she sat opposite him, she lifted up her voice and wept.
  18. Now after these things it was told to Abraham, “Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:
  19. The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
  20. The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.
  21. Jacob's Children

    When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
  22. When Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, she envied her sister. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I shall die!”
