God Praised and Pleas to Give Victory.

A Song, a Psalm of David.

108 (A)My heart is steadfast, God;
I will sing, I will sing praises also with my [a]soul.
Awake, harp and lyre;
I will awaken the dawn!
I will give thanks to You, Lord, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.
For Your (B)mercy is great (C)above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the skies.
(D)Be exalted above the heavens, God,
And may Your glory be above all the earth.
(E)So that Your beloved may be rescued,
Save with Your right hand, and answer me!

God has spoken in His [b]holiness:
“I will triumph, I will divide up Shechem,
And measure out the Valley of Succoth.
Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is the [c]helmet of My head;
(F)Judah is My [d]scepter.
Moab is My washbowl;
I will throw My sandal over Edom;
I will shout aloud over Philistia.”

10 (G)Who will bring me into the fortified city?
Who [e]will lead me to Edom?
11 God, have You Yourself not (H)rejected us?
And will You not go forth with our armies, God?
12 Give us help against the enemy,
For (I)deliverance [f]by man is worthless.
13 [g]Through God we will do valiantly,
And (J)it is He who will trample down our enemies.

Psalm 108[a]

A song. A psalm of David.

108 My heart is unwavering, God.
    I will sing and make music—
    yes, with my whole being!
Wake up, harp and lyre!
    I will wake the dawn itself!
I will give thanks to you, Lord, among all the peoples;
    I will make music to you among the nations,
    because your faithful love is higher than heaven;
    your faithfulness reaches the clouds.
Exalt yourself, God, higher than heaven!
    Let your glory be over all the earth!
    Save me by your power and answer me
    so that the people you love might be rescued.

God has spoken in his sanctuary:
“I will celebrate as I divide up Shechem
    and portion out the Succoth Valley.
Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine;
    Ephraim is my helmet, Judah is my scepter.
But Moab is my washbowl;
    I’ll throw my shoe at Edom.
    I shout in triumph over Philistia!
10 I wish someone would bring me to a fortified city!
    I wish someone would lead me to Edom!”

11 But you have rejected us, God, haven’t you?
    You, God, no longer accompany our armies.
12 Give us help against the enemy—
    human help is worthless.
13 With God we will triumph:
    God is the one who will trample our adversaries.
