¹⁶ The Lord hates six things;
in fact, seven are detestable to Him:
¹⁷ arrogant eyes,^(A) a lying tongue,^(B)
hands that shed innocent blood,^(C)
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,^(D)
feet eager to run to evil,^(E)
19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,^(F)
and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.^(G)

¹³ To fear the Lord is to hate evil.^(A)
I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct,
and perverse speech.

⁸ Don’t rebuke a mocker, or he will hate you;^(A)
rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.^(B)
