^26 (A)The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord,
^(B)But the words of the pure are pleasant.

² All the ways of a man are pure in his own ^(A)eyes,
But the Lord weighs the spirits.

^9 (A)A man’s heart plans his way,
^(B)But the Lord directs his steps.

²⁵ There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of ^(A)death.

³³ The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the Lord.

² Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge,
And he sins who hastens with his feet.

²¹ There are many plans in a man’s heart,
^(A)Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.

^22 (A)Do not say, “I will ^[a]recompense evil”;
^(B)Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.

^27 (A)The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination;
How much more when he brings it with wicked intent!
