^9 (A)Honor the Lord from your wealth,
And from the ^(B)first of all your produce;
¹⁰ Then your ^(C)barns will be filled with plenty,
And your ^(D)vats will overflow with new wine.

^2 [a](A)Ill-gotten gains do not benefit,
But righteousness rescues from death.
³ The Lord ^(B)will not allow the ^[b]righteous to hunger,
But He ^(C)will ^[c]reject the craving of the wicked.
⁴ Poor is one who works with ^[d]a lazy hand,
But the ^(D)hand of the diligent makes rich.

¹⁵ The ^(A)rich person’s wealth is his ^[a]fortress,
The ^(B)ruin of the poor is their poverty.

²² It is the ^(A)blessing of the Lord that makes rich,
And He adds no sorrow to it.

^4 (A)Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath,
But ^(B)righteousness rescues from death.

²⁵ A ^[a](A)generous person will be ^[b]prosperous,
And one who ^(B)gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.

²⁸ One who ^(A)trusts in his riches will fall,
But ^(B)the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

⁷ There is one who ^(A)pretends to be rich but has nothing;
Another pretends to be ^(B)poor, but has great wealth.
⁸ The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth,
But the poor hears no rebuke.

¹¹ Wealth obtained from ^[a]nothing dwindles,
But one who gathers ^[b]by labor increases it.
