³ Do not let gracious love and truth leave you.
    Bind them around your neck,
        write them on the tablet of your heart,
⁴ and find favor and a good reputation^[a] with God and men.

22 A good reputation is more desirable than great wealth,
and favorable acceptance more than silver and gold.

⁹ Instead, take up the matter with your neighbor,
    and don’t betray another person’s confidence.
¹⁰ Otherwise, anyone who hears will make you ashamed,
    and your bad reputation will never leave you.
