⁶ For Jehovah giveth wisdom;
Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding:
⁷ He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright;
^[a]He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
^8 [b]That he may guard the paths of justice,
^[c]And preserve the way of his saints.

³ Let not kindness and truth forsake thee:
Bind them about thy neck;
Write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
⁴ So shalt thou find favor and ^[a]good understanding
In the sight of God and man.

¹¹ My son, despise not the ^[a]chastening of Jehovah;
Neither be weary of his reproof:

²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah;
And he ^[a]maketh level all his paths.

¹⁶ There are six things which Jehovah hateth;
Yea, seven which are an abomination ^[a]unto him:
¹⁷ Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood;
¹⁸ A heart that deviseth wicked purposes,
Feet that are swift in running to mischief,
¹⁹ A false witness that ^[b]uttereth lies,
And he that ^[c]soweth discord among brethren.
