^22 (A)Listen to your father who begot you,
And do not despise your mother when she is old.

Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

¹³ My son, ^(A)eat honey because it is good,
And the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste;
^14 (B)So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul;
If you have found it, there is a ^[a]prospect,
And your hope will not be cut off.

^5 (A)Evil men do not understand justice,
But ^(B)those who seek the Lord understand all.

¹⁵ The rod and rebuke give ^(A)wisdom,
But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
