⁴ By humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches and honor and life.

^17 (A)Do not let your heart envy sinners,
But ^(B)be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day;
^18 (C)For surely there is a ^[a]hereafter,
And your hope will not be cut off.

¹⁹ Hear, my son, and be wise;
And guide your heart in the way.

²¹ My son, ^(A)fear the Lord and the king;
Do not associate with those given to change;

^5 (A)Evil men do not understand justice,
But ^(B)those who seek the Lord understand all.

¹⁴ Happy is the man who is always reverent,
But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
