¹⁸Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope;
And set not thy heart on ^[a]his destruction.

¹⁷Discipline your children, and they will give you rest,
and they will give delight to your soul.^[a]

¹⁷Correct thy son, and he will give thee rest;
Yea, he will give delight unto thy soul.
