Retirement for the Levites
23 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “This is what applies to the Levites: from (A)twenty-five years old and upward [a]they shall enter to perform service in the work of the tent of meeting. 25 But at the age of fifty years they shall [b]retire from service in the work and not work anymore. 26 They may, however, [c]assist their brothers in the tent of meeting, (B)to fulfill an obligation, but they themselves shall do no work. In this way you shall deal with the Levites in their obligations.”

Revised Standard Version
23 And the Lord said to Moses, 24 “This is what pertains to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to perform the work in the service of the tent of meeting; 25 and from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the work of the service and serve no more, 26 but minister to their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and they shall do no service.
