(A)Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “(B)The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. (C)If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—(D)a land which flows with milk and honey. Only (E)do not rebel against the Lord; and do not (F)fear the people of the land, for they will be our [a]prey. Their [b]protection is gone from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.” 10 (G)But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Then (H)the glory of the Lord appeared in the tent of meeting to all the sons of Israel.

Then Moses and Aaron fell down with their faces to the ground in front of the whole assembly of the Israelite community. Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who scouted out the land, tore their clothes and said to the entire Israelite community: “The land we passed through and explored is an extremely good land.(A) If the Lord is pleased with us, He will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey,(B) and give it to us. Only don’t rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land, for we will devour them.(C) Their protection(D) has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us. Don’t be afraid of them!”

10 While the whole community threatened to stone them,(E) the glory of the Lord appeared to all the Israelites at the tent of meeting.
