Micah 4:6-13
English Standard Version
The Lord Shall Rescue Zion
6 (A)In that day, declares the Lord,
(B)I will assemble the (C)lame
and gather those who have been driven away
and those whom I have afflicted;
7 and the lame I will make (D)the remnant,
and those who were cast off, a strong nation;
and (E)the Lord will reign over them (F)in Mount Zion
from this time forth and forevermore.
8 And you, O tower of the flock,
hill of the daughter of Zion,
to you shall it come,
the former dominion shall come,
kingship for the daughter of Jerusalem.
9 Now why do you cry aloud?
(G)Is there no king in you?
(H)Has your counselor perished,
that (I)pain seized you like a woman in labor?
10 (J)Writhe and groan,[a] O daughter of Zion,
like a woman in labor,
for (K)now you shall go out from the city
and dwell in the open country;
you (L)shall go to Babylon.
There you shall be rescued;
(M)there the Lord will redeem you
from the hand of your enemies.
11 Now (N)many nations
are assembled against you,
saying, “Let her be defiled,
and (O)let our eyes gaze upon Zion.”
12 But (P)they do not know
the thoughts of the Lord;
they do not understand his plan,
that (Q)he has gathered them as sheaves to the threshing floor.
13 Arise and thresh,
O daughter of Zion,
for I will make your horn iron,
and I will make your hoofs bronze;
you shall beat in pieces many peoples;
and (R)shall devote[b] (S)their gain to the Lord,
their wealth to (T)the Lord of the whole earth.

6 On that day—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
I will assemble the lame
and gather the scattered,(A)
those I have injured.
7 I will make the lame into a remnant,(B)
those far removed into a strong nation.
Then the Lord will rule over them(C) in Mount Zion
from this time on and forever.
8 And you, watchtower for the flock,(D)
fortified hill[a] of Daughter Zion,
the former rule(E) will come to you,
sovereignty will come to Daughter Jerusalem.
From Exile to Victory
9 Now, why are you shouting loudly?(F)
Is there no king with you?
Has your counselor perished(G)
so that anguish grips you like a woman in labor?
10 Writhe and cry out,[b](H) Daughter Zion,
like a woman in labor,
for now you will leave the city(I)
and camp in the open fields.
You will go to Babylon;
there you will be rescued;(J)
there the Lord will redeem you(K)
from the power of your enemies!
11 Many nations have now assembled against you;(L)
they say, “Let her be defiled,
and let us feast our eyes on Zion.”
12 But they do not know the Lord’s intentions(M)
or understand His plan,
that He has gathered them
like sheaves to the threshing floor.
13 Rise and thresh,(N) Daughter Zion,
for I will make your horns iron
and your hooves bronze,
so you can crush many peoples.(O)
Then you[c] will set apart their plunder(P)
to the Lord for destruction,
their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
