Judah’s Marital Unfaithfulness

10 Don’t all of us have one Father?(A) Didn’t one God create us?(B) Why then do we act treacherously against one another,(C) profaning(D) the covenant of our fathers?(E) 11 Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable(F) thing has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned(G) the Lord’s sanctuary,[a](H) which He loves,(I) and has married the daughter of a foreign god.[b](J) 12 To the man who does this, may the Lord cut off(K) any descendants[c][d](L) from the tents of Jacob, even if they present an offering to the Lord of Hosts.

A Call to Faithfulness

10 Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors?

11 Judah has been unfaithful, and a detestable thing has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. The men of Judah have defiled the Lord’s beloved sanctuary by marrying women who worship idols. 12 May the Lord cut off from the nation of Israel[a] every last man who has done this and yet brings an offering to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
