Judah’s Marital Unfaithfulness

10 Don’t all of us have one Father?(A) Didn’t one God create us?(B) Why then do we act treacherously against one another,(C) profaning(D) the covenant of our ancestors?(E) 11 Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable(F) act has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned(G) the Lord’s sanctuary,[a](H) which he loves,(I) and has married the daughter of a foreign god.[b](J) 12 May the Lord cut off(K) from the tents of Jacob the man who does this, whoever he may be,[c](L) even if he presents an offering to the Lord of Armies.

A Call to Faithfulness

10 Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors?

11 Judah has been unfaithful, and a detestable thing has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. The men of Judah have defiled the Lord’s beloved sanctuary by marrying women who worship idols. 12 May the Lord cut off from the nation of Israel[a] every last man who has done this and yet brings an offering to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
