Luke 9:51-56

⁵¹ And it happened that when it was time for Him to be received up, He set His face to go to Jerusalem,

⁵² And sent messengers before Him. And they went and entered into a town of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.

⁵³ But they would not receive Him, because His face was set toward Jerusalem.

⁵⁴ And when His disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command that fire come down from Heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”

⁵⁵ But Jesus turned around and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know of what spirit you are.

⁵⁶ “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” Then they went to another town.
