45 The (A)officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” 46 The (B)officers answered, “(C)Never has a man spoken in this way!” 47 The Pharisees then replied to them, “(D)You have not been led astray too, have you? 48 (E)Not one of (F)the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he? 49 But this crowd that does not know the Law is accursed!” 50 (G)Nicodemus (the one who came to Him before, being one of them) *said to them, 51 “(H)Our Law does not judge the person unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?” 52 They answered and said to him, “(I)You are not from Galilee as well, are you? Examine the Scriptures, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.” 53 [[[a]And everyone went to his home.

45 Then the officers went to the chief priests and Pharisees. And those ones said to them, “For what reason did you not bring Him?” 46 The officers answered, “Never did a man speak in this manner”. 47 Then the Pharisees responded to them, “You also have not been deceived, have you? 48 Someone from the rulers did not believe in Him, did he, or from the Pharisees? 49 But this crowd not knowing the Law— they are accursed ones”. 50 Nicodemus— the one having come to Him formerly, being one of them— says to them, 51 “Our Law does not judge the person unless it first hears from him, and knows what he is doing, does it ?” 52 They responded and said to him, “You also are not from Galilee, are you? Search and see that a prophet does not arise from Galilee”. 53 And[a] each one went to his house, 8 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
