John 17:20-26
New American Standard Bible
20 “I am not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; (A)just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, (B)so that the world may [a]believe that (C)You sent Me.
Disciples’ Future Glory
22 The (D)glory which You have given Me I also have given to them, so that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 (E)I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected [b]in unity, so that the world may [c]know that (F)You sent Me, and You (G)loved them, just as You loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that (H)they also, whom You have given Me, (I)be with Me where I am, so that they may see My (J)glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before (K)the foundation of the world.
25 “(L)Righteous Father, [d]although (M)the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that (N)You sent Me; 26 and (O)I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (P)the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Disciples’ Literal New Testament
May These And The Ones Believing Through Them All Be One
20 “And I am not praying for these ones only, but also for the ones believing in Me through their word, 21 that[a] they may all be[b] one[c]— just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, that[d] they also may be in Us— in order that the world may be believing that You sent Me forth. 22 And I have given them the glory[e] which You have given to Me in order that they may be one just as We are one, 23 I in them and You in Me; in order that they may be perfected into one— in order that the world may be knowing that You sent Me forth, and loved them just as You loved Me.
Father, I Want Them To Be With Me And See The Glory You Have Given Me
24 “Father, as to what[f] You have given to Me, I desire that those ones also may be with Me where I am, in order that they may be seeing My glory which You have given to Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Father, I Made You Known To Them In Order That Your Love May Be In Them
25 “Righteous Father, indeed the world did not know You— but I knew You. And these ones knew that You sent Me forth. 26 And I made Your name known to them, and will make it known, in order that the love with which You loved Me may be in[g] them, and I may be in them”.

- John 17:21 This gives the content of this prayer, that they may all be one. Or, in order that, giving the purpose of it. I do not pray ‘Keep them’ and ‘Set them apart’ for them alone, but for all, in order that they may all be one.
- John 17:21 That is, be continuing to be; or, keep on being; not ‘get to be’.
- John 17:21 That is, one with Us (as defined by what follows, and equivalent to ‘may all abide in Us and Us in them’); or, one with each other (linking it to the command to love one another).
- John 17:21 Or, in order that.
- John 17:22 That is, the glory of Your name and word revealed through Me; or, the glory of My working through them, 14:13-14; or, the glory of humbly taking up their cross and serving You as I did; or, the glory of I in them (v 23), of the divine nature indwelling them (2 Pet 1:4).
- John 17:24 This views the totality of believers as an abstract whole.
- John 17:26 That is, within; or, among.
