The Triumphal Entry

12 On the next day, when (A)the large crowd that had come to (B)the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began shouting, “(C)Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, indeed, the (D)King of Israel!” 14 Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: 15 (E)Do not fear, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, seated on a donkeys colt.” 16 (F)These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus (G)was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things for Him. 17 So (H)the [a]people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify about Him. 18 (I)For this reason also the [b]people went to meet Him, (J)because they heard that He had performed this [c]sign. 19 So the Pharisees said [d]to one another, “You see that you are not accomplishing anything; look, the world has gone after Him!”

Jesus The King Enters Jerusalem On a Donkey, As Predicted By Zechariah

12 On the next day the large crowd[a]— the one having come to the Feast— having heard[b] that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took the branches of palm-trees and came out to meet Him. And they were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel”. 14 And Jesus, having found a young-donkey, sat on it, just as it has been written [in Zech 9:9]: 15 “Do not be fearing, daughter of Zion. Behold— your King is coming, sitting on a colt of a donkey”. 16 His disciples did not understand these things at first. But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written for[c] Him, and that they did these things to Him. 17 Then the crowd[d] was testifying— the one being with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead. 18 For this reason also the crowd[e] met Him— because they heard that He had done this sign. 19 Then the Pharisees said to themselves, “You see that you are profiting nothing! Look— the world went after Him!”
