John 11:38-44

³⁸ Therefore Jesus groaned in Himself again and came to the grave. And it was a cave. And a stone was laid upon it.

³⁹ Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, he stinks already. For it has been four days.”

⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

⁴¹ Then they took away the stone where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You, because You have heard Me.

⁴² “I know that You always hear Me. But I said it because of the people who stand by, so that they may believe that You have sent Me.”

⁴³ And having spoken these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus! Come forth!”

⁴⁴ Then, the one who was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with bandages. And his face was bound with a handkerchief. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him! And let him go!”
