Job 34:5-9
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
5 For Job has said, ‘I am innocent,
and God has taken away my right;
6 in spite of being right I am counted a liar;
my wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’(A)
7 Who is there like Job,
who drinks up scoffing like water,(B)
8 who goes in company with evildoers
and walks with the wicked?(C)
9 For he has said, ‘It profits one nothing
to take delight in God.’(D)
Job 34:5-9
Common English Bible
5 for Job has said, “I’m innocent;
God has denied my just cause;
6 because of my cause I’m thought a liar;
my wound from an arrow is incurable, even though I didn’t rebel.”
7 Who is a man like Job?
He drinks mockery like water
8 and travels a path with wrongdoers,
walking with evil persons.
9 Indeed he said, “No one is rewarded
for delighting in God.”
