1 A man named Job lived in Uz. He was a man of integrity: He was decent, he feared God, and he stayed away from evil. ² He had seven sons and three daughters. ³ He owned 7,000 sheep and goats, 3,000 camels, 1,000 oxen, 500 donkeys, and a large number of servants. He was the most influential person in the Middle East.
