Job 13:13-19
New American Standard Bible
Job Is Sure He Will Be Vindicated
13 “(A)Be silent before me so that I may speak;
Then let come upon me what may.
14 Why should I take my flesh in my teeth,
And (B)put my life in my [a]hands?
15 (C)Though He slay me,
I will [b]hope in Him.
Nevertheless I (D)will argue my ways [c]before Him.
16 This also will be my (E)salvation,
For (F)a godless person cannot come before His presence.
17 Listen carefully to my speech,
And let my declaration fill your ears.
18 Behold now, I have (G)prepared my case;
I know that (H)I will be vindicated.
19 (I)Who could contend with me?
For then I would be silent and (J)die.
Job 13:13-19
Revised Standard Version
13 “Let me have silence, and I will speak,
and let come on me what may.
14 I will take[a] my flesh in my teeth,
and put my life in my hand.
15 Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope;
yet I will defend my ways to his face.
16 This will be my salvation,
that a godless man shall not come before him.
17 Listen carefully to my words,
and let my declaration be in your ears.
18 Behold, I have prepared my case;
I know that I shall be vindicated.
19 Who is there that will contend with me?
For then I would be silent and die.
