Job 10:13-17
New International Version
13 “But this is what you concealed in your heart,
and I know that this was in your mind:(A)
14 If I sinned, you would be watching me(B)
and would not let my offense go unpunished.(C)
15 If I am guilty(D)—woe to me!(E)
Even if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head,(F)
for I am full of shame
and drowned in[a] my affliction.(G)
16 If I hold my head high, you stalk me like a lion(H)
and again display your awesome power against me.(I)
17 You bring new witnesses against me(J)
and increase your anger toward me;(K)
your forces come against me wave upon wave.(L)

No hiding place
13 These things you hid in your heart;
I know this is the case with you.
14 If I sin and you observe me,
you won’t consider me innocent of wrongdoing.
15 If I were guilty, doom to me;
I’m innocent, but can’t lift my head,
full of shame and facing my misery.
16 I could boast like a lion, and you would hunt me;
you would do awesome things to me again.
17 You continue to send your witnesses against me
and increase your anger toward me,
a swift army against me.[a]
