Jeremiah 50:17-18

17 (A)“Israel is a hunted sheep (B)driven away by lions. (C)First the king of Assyria (D)devoured him, and now at last (E)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon (F)has gnawed his bones. 18 Therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, (G)I am bringing punishment on the king of Babylon and his land, (H)as I punished the king of Assyria.

Jeremiah 50:17-18
Common English Bible
17 Israelites are scattered sheep,
driven away by lions.
First the king of Assyria devoured them,
and now Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar has ravaged them.[a]
18 Therefore, the Lord of heavenly forces, the God of Israel, proclaims:
I’m going to punish the king of Babylon and his land,
just as I punished the king of Assyria.
