14 Then Jeremiah left Topheth where the Lord had sent him to give that prophecy. He went to the Lord’s temple and stood[a] in its courtyard and called out to all the people. 15 “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel,[b] says, ‘I will soon bring on this city and all the towns surrounding it[c] all the disaster I threatened to do to it. I will do so because they have stubbornly refused[d] to pay any attention to what I have said!’”

14 When Jeremiah returned from Topheth where the Lord had sent him to prophesy, he stood in the court of the Lord’s temple and said to all the people: 15 The Lord of heavenly forces, the God of Israel, proclaims: I am about to bring upon this city and its surrounding towns every disaster that I have pronounced against them, because they have been stubborn and wouldn’t obey my words.
