Jeremiah 14:19-22
New American Standard Bible
19 Have You completely (A)rejected Judah?
Or have [a]You loathed Zion?
Why have You stricken us so that we (B)are beyond healing?
We (C)waited for peace, but nothing good came;
And for a time of healing, but behold, terror!
20 We (D)know our wickedness, Lord,
The wrongdoing of our fathers, for (E)we have sinned against You.
21 Do not despise us, (F)for the sake of Your own name;
Do not disgrace the (G)throne of Your glory.
Remember and do not annul Your covenant with us.
22 Are there any among the [b](H)idols of the nations who (I)give rain?
Or can the heavens grant showers?
Is it not You, Lord our God?
Therefore we (J)wait for You,
For You are the one who has done all these things.

We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and, behold, dismay! 20 We [a]acknowledge, O Jehovah, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against thee. 21 Do not [b]abhor us, for thy name’s sake; do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us. 22 Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Jehovah our God? therefore we will wait for thee; for thou hast [c]made all these things.
