Jeremiah 13:22-27
New International Version
22 And if you ask yourself,
“Why has this happened to me?”(A)—
it is because of your many sins(B)
that your skirts have been torn off(C)
and your body mistreated.(D)
23 Can an Ethiopian[a] change his skin
or a leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good
who are accustomed to doing evil.(E)
24 “I will scatter you like chaff(F)
driven by the desert wind.(G)
25 This is your lot,
the portion(H) I have decreed for you,”
declares the Lord,
“because you have forgotten(I) me
and trusted in false gods.(J)
26 I will pull up your skirts over your face
that your shame may be seen(K)—
27 your adulteries and lustful neighings,
your shameless prostitution!(L)
I have seen your detestable acts
on the hills and in the fields.(M)
Woe to you, Jerusalem!
How long will you be unclean?”(N)

Jeremiah 13:22-27
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
22 And if you say in your heart,
“Why have these things come upon me?”
it is for the greatness of your iniquity
that your skirts are lifted up
and you are violated.(A)
23 Can Cushites change their skin
or leopards their spots?
Then also you can do good,
who are accustomed to do evil.(B)
24 I will scatter you[a] like chaff
driven by the wind from the desert.(C)
25 This is your lot,
the portion I have measured out to you, says the Lord,
because you have forgotten me
and trusted in lies.(D)
26 I myself will lift up your skirts over your face,
and your shame will be seen.(E)
27 I have seen your abominations,
your adulteries and neighings, your shameless prostitutions
on the hills of the countryside.
Woe to you, O Jerusalem!
How long will it be
before you are made clean?(F)
