Hosea 8:11-14

11 When Ephraim multiplied altars
to expiate sins,
they became to him altars to sin on.
12 I write for him myriads of my instruction;[a]
they are regarded as a strange thing.
13 They offer sacrifices of my choice[b]
and they eat flesh;
Yahweh does not accept them.
Now he will remember their iniquity
and punish their sins;
they will return to Egypt.
14 Israel has forgotten his maker and built palaces,
and Judah has multiplied fortified cities;
but I will send fire on his cities
and it will devour her strongholds.

11 Because Ephraim (A)has multiplied altars for sinning,
they have become to him altars for sinning.
12 (B)Were I to write for him my laws by the ten thousands,
they would be regarded as a strange thing.
13 As for my sacrificial offerings,
(C)they sacrifice meat and eat it,
but the Lord does not accept them.
(D)Now he will remember their iniquity
and punish their sins;
(E)they shall return to Egypt.
14 For (F)Israel has forgotten (G)his Maker
and (H)built palaces,
and (I)Judah has multiplied fortified cities;
so (J)I will send a fire upon his cities,
and it shall devour her strongholds.
