Hosea 7:8-10

8 Ephraim mixes himself
with the nations;
Ephraim is a bread cake
not turned over.
9 Foreigners devour[a] his strength,
and he does not know it;
mold[b] is also sprinkled upon him,
and he does not know it.
10 The pride of Israel testifies against him[c]—
they do not return to Yahweh their God;
they do not seek him for all of this.[d]

Ephraim is unturned bread baked on a griddle.
9 Foreigners consume his strength,(A)
but he does not notice.(B)
Even his hair is streaked with gray,
but he does not notice.
10 Israel’s arrogance testifies against them,[a](C)
yet they do not return to the Lord their God,(D)
and for all this, they do not seek him.
