Ezekiel 5:5-17

5 “This is what the Lord [a]God says: ‘This is (A)Jerusalem; I have placed her at the (B)center of the nations, with lands around her. 6 But she has rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against My statutes (C)more than the lands which surround her; for they have (D)rejected My ordinances and have not walked [b]in My statutes.’ 7 Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Because you have (E)more turmoil than the nations that surround you and have not walked in My statutes, nor executed My ordinances, nor acted in accordance with the ordinances of the nations around you,’ 8 therefore, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I, even I, am (F)against you, and I will (G)execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations. 9 And because of all your abominations I will do among you what I have (H)not done, and the like of which I will never do again. 10 Therefore, (I)fathers will eat their sons among you, and sons will eat their fathers; for I will execute judgments on you and (J)scatter all your remnant to every wind. 11 Therefore as I live,’ declares the Lord God, ‘Because you have (K)defiled My sanctuary with all your (L)detestable idols and with all your abominations, I definitely will also withdraw and My eye will have no pity, and I also will not spare. 12 A third of you will die by (M)plague or perish by famine among you, a third will fall by the sword around you, and a third I will (N)scatter to every wind, and I will (O)unsheathe a sword behind them.
13 ‘Then My anger will be spent and I will satisfy My wrath on them, and I will be (P)appeased; then they will know that I, the Lord, have (Q)spoken in My zeal, when I have spent My wrath upon them. 14 Moreover, I will make you a site of ruins and a (R)disgrace among the nations that surround you, in the sight of everyone who passes by. 15 So [c]it will be a disgrace, an object of abuse, a (S)warning, and an object of horror to the nations that surround you when I (T)execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and raging reprimands. I, the Lord, have spoken. 16 When I send against them the [d]deadly arrows of famine which [e]were for the destruction of those whom I will send to destroy you, then I will also intensify the famine upon you and break off your [f]provision of bread. 17 (U)I will send on you famine and vicious animals, and they will bereave you of children; (V)plague and bloodshed also will pass through you, and I will bring the sword on you. I, the Lord, have spoken.’”

5 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are round about her. 6 And she hath [a]rebelled against mine ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for they have rejected mine ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept mine ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you; 8 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against thee; and I will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations. 9 And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations. 10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on thee; and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter unto all the winds. 11 Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also [b]diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, and I also will have no pity. 12 A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and a third part I will scatter unto all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.
13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to [c]rest, and I shall be comforted: and they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath upon them. 14 Moreover I will make thee a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by. 15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments on thee in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes (I, Jehovah, have spoken it); 16 when I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. And I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread; 17 and I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee: I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
