Ezekiel 33:27-29

New International Version

²⁷“Say this to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: As surely as I live, those who are left in the ruins will fall by the sword, those out in the country I will give to the wild animals to be devoured, and those in strongholds and caves will die of a plague.^(A) ²⁸I will make the land a desolate waste, and her proud strength will come to an end, and the mountains^(B) of Israel will become desolate so that no one will cross them.^(C) ²⁹Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land a desolate^(D) waste because of all the detestable things they have done.’^(E)

²⁷“Say thus to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “As I live, surely ^(A)those who are in the ruins shall fall by the sword, and the one who is in the open field ^(B)I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those who are in the strongholds and ^(C)caves shall die of the pestilence. ²⁸^(D)For I will make the land most desolate, ^[a]her ^(E)arrogant strength shall cease, and ^(F)the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that no one will pass through. ²⁹Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.” ’
