Ezekiel 33:23-26
New English Translation
23 The Lord’s message came to me: 24 “Son of man, the ones living in these ruins in the land of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he possessed the land, but we are many; surely the land has been given to us for a possession.’[a] 25 Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You eat the meat with the blood still in it,[b] pray to[c] your idols, and shed blood. Do you really think you will possess[d] the land? 26 You rely[e] on your swords and commit abominable deeds; each of you defiles his neighbor’s wife. Will you possess the land?’

23 The word of the Lord came to me: 24 (A)“Son of man, the inhabitants of these (B)waste places in the land of Israel keep saying, (C)‘Abraham was only one man, yet he got possession of the land; but (D)we are many; the land is surely given us to possess.’ 25 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: (E)You eat flesh with the blood and (F)lift up your eyes to your idols and (G)shed blood; shall you then possess the land? 26 (H)You rely on the sword, (I)you commit abominations, and (J)each of you defiles his neighbor's wife; shall you then possess the land?
