10 “Thus says the Lord God:

(A)“I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt,
    by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 He and his people with him, (B)the most ruthless of nations,
    shall be brought in to destroy the land,
(C)and they shall draw their swords against Egypt
    and fill the land with the slain.
12 And (D)I will (E)dry up the Nile
    and will sell the land into the hand of (F)evildoers;
(G)I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it,
    by the hand of (H)foreigners;
(I)I am the Lord; I have spoken.

By the power of King Nebuchadnezzar[a] of Babylon,
    I will destroy the hordes of Egypt.
11 He and his armies—the most ruthless of all—
    will be sent to demolish the land.
They will make war against Egypt
    until slaughtered Egyptians cover the ground.
12 I will dry up the Nile River
    and sell the land to wicked men.
I will destroy the land of Egypt and everything in it
    by the hands of foreigners.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!
