I looked, and a hand was stretched out to me, and a written scroll was in it.(A) 10 He spread it before me; it had writing on the front and on the back, and written on it were words of lamentation and mourning and woe.

He said to me, “O mortal, eat what is offered to you; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”(B) So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. He said to me, “Mortal, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and in my mouth it was as sweet as honey.(C)

So I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me,(A) and there was a written scroll in it.(B) 10 When He unrolled it before me, it was written on the front and back; words of lamentation, mourning, and woe were written on it.

He said to me: “Son of man, eat what you find here. Eat this scroll,(C) then go and speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll. “Son of man,” He said to me, “eat[a] and fill your stomach with this scroll I am giving you.” So I ate it,(D) and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.(E)
