A Prophecy Against Philistia

15 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘The Philistines[a] have exacted merciless revenge,[b] showing intense scorn[c] in their effort to destroy Judah[d] with unrelenting hostility.[e] 16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Take note, I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines. I will kill[f] the Kerethites[g] and destroy those who remain on the seacoast. 17 I will exact great vengeance upon them with angry rebukes.[h] Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I exact my vengeance upon them.’”

  8. Ezekiel 25:17 tn Heb “with acts of punishment of anger.”

A Message for Philistia

15 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Philistia have acted against Judah out of bitter revenge and long-standing contempt. 16 Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will raise my fist of judgment against the land of the Philistines. I will wipe out the Kerethites and utterly destroy the people who live by the sea. 17 I will execute terrible vengeance against them to punish them for what they have done. And when I have inflicted my revenge, they will know that I am the Lord.”
