17 And the word of Yahweh came[a] to me, saying,[b] 18 “Son of man,[c] you must eat your food with trembling, and your water with shuddering, and with anxiety you must drink. 19 And you must say to the people of the land, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the inhabitants of Jerusalem about the land of Israel: “They will eat their food with anxiety and their water they will drink with horror, because their land will be desolate from[d] its fullness because of all the violence of those who are dwelling in it.[e] 20 And the inhabited cites will be desolate,[f] and the land will be a desolation, and you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

17 The word of the Lord came to me: 18 “Son of man, eat your bread with(A) trembling and drink your water with anxious shaking. 19 Then say to the people of the land, ‘This is what the Lord God says about the residents of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water in dread, for their[a][b] land will be stripped of everything(B) in it because of the violence of all who live there. 20 The inhabited cities will be destroyed, and the land will become dreadful. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
