20 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(A)Rise early in the morning and present yourself before Pharaoh, [a]as (B)he comes out to the water; and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “(C)Let My people go, so that they may serve Me. 21 For if you are not going to let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and on your servants and on your people, and into your houses; and the houses of the Egyptians will be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they live. 22 (D)But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are [b]living, so that no swarms of flies will be there, in order that you may know that [c](E)I, the Lord, am in the midst of the land. 23 I will [d]put a division between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign will occur.”’” 24 Then the Lord did so. And [e]thick swarms of flies entered the house of Pharaoh and the houses of his servants, and the land was (F)laid waste because of the swarms of flies in all the land of Egypt.

25 Then Pharaoh (G)called for Moses and Aaron and said, “(H)Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.” 26 But Moses said, “It is not permissible for us to do so, because we will sacrifice to the Lord our God [f]that which is (I)an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice [g]that which is an abomination to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us? 27 We must go a (J)three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God, just as He [h]commands us.” 28 Pharaoh said, “(K)I will let you go, so that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. (L)Plead for me.” 29 Then Moses said, “Behold, I am going to leave you, and I will plead with the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people tomorrow; only do not let Pharaoh (M)deal deceitfully again in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”

30 So (N)Moses left Pharaoh and pleaded with the Lord. 31 The Lord did [i]as Moses asked, and removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh [j]hardened his heart this time also, and (O)he did not let the people go.

20 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are. 22 And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am Jehovah in the midst of the earth. 23 And I will [a]put a division between my people and thy people: by to-morrow shall this sign be. 24 And Jehovah did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was [b]corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. 26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Jehovah our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? 27 We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Jehovah our God, as he shall command us. 28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to Jehovah your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: entreat for me. 29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will entreat Jehovah that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to-morrow: only let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Jehovah. 30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and entreated Jehovah. 31 And Jehovah did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one. 32 And Pharaoh [c]hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people go.
