Deuteronomy 7:7-11
Lexham English Bible
7 “Yahweh loved you and chose you not because of your great number[a] exceeding all other peoples, for you are fewer than all of the peoples, 8 but[b] because of[c] the love of Yahweh for you and because of his keeping of the sworn oath that he swore to your ancestors,[d] Yahweh brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. 9 So know that Yahweh your God, he is God, the trustworthy God, maintaining his[e] covenant and his[f] loyal love with those who love him and with those who keep his commandments to a thousand generations,[g] 10 but repaying those[h] who hate him in their own person[i] to destroy them;[j] he is not slow with those who hate him in their own person;[k] he repays them.[l] 11 And so you shall keep the commandment and the rules and the regulations that I am commanding you today[m] to observe them.

Deuteronomy 7:7-11
Holman Christian Standard Bible
7 “The Lord was devoted to you and chose you, not because you were more numerous than all peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But because the Lord loved(A) you and kept the oath He swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed(B) you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know that Yahweh your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commands.(C) 10 But He directly pays back[a] and destroys those who hate Him.(D) He will not hesitate to directly pay back[b] the one who hates Him. 11 So keep the command—the statutes and ordinances—that I am giving you to follow today.
