6 These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart.(A) 7 Repeat them to your children.(B) Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol[a] on your forehead.[b](C) 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

6 Let these words that I’m commanding you today be always[a] on your heart. 7 Teach them repeatedly to your children. Talk about them while sitting in your house or walking on the road, and as you lie down or get up. 8 Tie them as reminders[b] on your forearm, bind them on your forehead,[c] 9 and write them on the door frames of your house and on your gates.”
