Deuteronomy 6:4-9

4 “Hear, Israel, Yahweh our God, Yahweh is unique.[a] 5 And you shall love Yahweh your God with all of your heart[b] and with all of your soul[c] and with all of your might. 6 And these words that I am commanding you today[d] shall be on[e] your heart.[f] 7 And you shall recite them to your children, and you shall talk about them at the time of your living in your house and at the time of your going on the road and at the time of your lying down and at the time of your rising up. 8 And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as an emblem between your eyes. 9 And you shall write them on the doorframe of your house and on your gates.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a](A) 5 Love(B) the Lord your God with all your heart(C) and with all your soul and with all your strength.(D) 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.(E) 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.(F) 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.(G) 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.(H)

The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.[a] 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
