Elisha Gives Life to a Boy

One day Elisha traveled to Shunem, where a prominent[a] woman lived. She insisted that he stop for a meal.[b] So whenever he was passing through, he would stop in there for a meal.[c] She said to her husband, “Look, I’m sure[d] that the man who regularly passes through here is a very special prophet.[e] 10 Let’s make a small, private upper room[f] and furnish it with[g] a bed, table, chair, and lamp. When he visits us, he can stay there.”

Elisha Raises the Shunammite’s Son

One day Elisha was passing through Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to have a meal. So whenever he passed that way, he would stop there for a meal.(A) She said to her husband, “Look, I am sure that this man who regularly passes our way is a holy man of God.(B) 10 Let us make a small roof chamber with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that he can stay there whenever he comes to us.”
