Elisha Gives Life to a Boy

One day Elisha traveled to Shunem, where a prominent[a] woman lived. She insisted that he stop for a meal.[b] So whenever he was passing through, he would stop in there for a meal.[c] She said to her husband, “Look, I’m sure[d] that the man who regularly passes through here is a very special prophet.[e] 10 Let’s make a small, private upper room[f] and furnish it with[g] a bed, table, chair, and lamp. When he visits us, he can stay there.”

Elisha and the Shunammite Woman

One day Elisha went on to (A)Shunem, where a (B)wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food. And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy (C)man of God who is continually passing our way. 10 Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.”
