2 Kings 14:23-29

23 ¶ In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, was Jeroboam the son of Joash made king over Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and forty years.
24 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the [a]sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin.
25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entering of Hamath, unto the sea of the wilderness, according to the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake [b]by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
26 For the Lord saw the exceedingly bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none [c]shut up, nor any left, neither yet any that could help Israel.
27 Yet the Lord [d]had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from under the heaven: therefore he preserved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
28 Concerning the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deeds, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and [e]Hamath to Judah in Israel, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
29 So Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel, and Zechariah his son reigned in his stead.
