46 Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines, and the Philistines went to their place. 47 So Saul took the kingship over Israel, and he fought all around against his enemies, against Moab, against the Ammonites,[a] against Edom, against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines. He inflicted punishment against all who rebelled.

46 Then Saul stopped pursuing[a] the Philistines, and the Philistines went back to their territory.

47 When Saul became king over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side—against Moab, the Ammonites, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. Everywhere he turned he was victorious.[b]
