Israel’s King Ahaziah

51 Ahaziah(A) son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria(B) in the seventeenth year of Judah’s King Jehoshaphat(C) and reigned over Israel two years. 52 He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.(D) He walked in the way of his father,(E) in the way of his mother,(F) and in the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.(G) 53 He served Baal and worshiped him.(H) He provoked the Lord God of Israel just as his father had done.(I)

Ahaziah rules Israel

51 In the seventeenth year of Judah’s King Jehoshaphat, Ahaziah, Ahab’s son, became king over Israel in Samaria. He ruled over Israel for two years. 52 He did evil in the Lord’s eyes. He walked in his father’s ways and his mother’s ways—that is, in the ways of Jeroboam, Nebat’s son, who had caused Israel to sin. 53 Ahaziah served Baal and worshipped him. He angered the Lord, Israel’s God, by doing all the same things his father had done.
