⁶ but whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that ^[a]a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

⁷ Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh!

⁴² And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe ^[a]on me to stumble, it were better for him if ^[b]a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

17 And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! ² It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. ³ Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
