The Song of Mary
46 And Mary said:
(A)“My soul [a]magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has (B)rejoiced in (C)God my Savior.
48 For (D)He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth (E)all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty (F)has done great things for me,
And (G)holy is His name.
50 And (H)His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 (I)He has shown strength with His arm;
(J)He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 (K)He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
53 He has (L)filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
54 He has helped His (M)servant Israel,
(N)In remembrance of His mercy,
55 (O)As He spoke to our (P)fathers,
To Abraham and to his (Q)seed forever.”
56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.
Birth of John the Baptist
57 Now Elizabeth’s full time came for her to be delivered, and she brought forth a son. 58 When her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they (R)rejoiced with her.
Circumcision of John the Baptist
59 So it was, (S)on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. 60 His mother answered and said, (T)“No; he shall be called John.”
61 But they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.” 62 So they made signs to his father—what he would have him called.
63 And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, “His name is John.” So they all marveled. 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, praising God. 65 Then fear came on all who dwelt around them; and all these sayings were discussed throughout all the hill country of Judea. 66 And all those who heard them (U)kept them in their hearts, saying, “What kind of child will this be?” And (V)the hand of the Lord was with him.

62 他 們 就 向 他 父 親 打 手 式 ， 問 他 要 叫 這 孩 子 甚 麼 名 字 。
63 他 要 了 一 塊 寫 字 的 板 ， 就 寫 上 ， 說 ： 他 的 名 字 是 約 翰 。 他 們 便 都 希 奇 。
64 撒 迦 利 亞 的 口 立 時 開 了 ， 舌 頭 也 舒 展 了 ， 就 說 出 話 來 ， 稱 頌 神 。
65 周 圍 居 住 的 人 都 懼 怕 ； 這 一 切 的 事 就 傳 遍 了 猶 太 的 山 地 。
66 凡 聽 見 的 人 都 將 這 事 放 在 心 裡 ， 說 ： 這 個 孩 子 將 來 怎 麼 樣 呢 ？ 因 為 有 主 與 他 同 在 。
