[a]You there! (A)Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “because I have (B)spread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord. [b]You, Zion! (C)Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” For the Lord of armies says this: “After (D)glory He has sent me against the nations that plunder you, for the one who touches you, touches the [c](E)apple of His eye. For behold, I am going to (F)wave My hand over them so that they will be (G)plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the Lord of armies has sent Me. 10 (H)Shout for joy and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will (I)dwell in your midst,” declares the Lord. 11 “And (J)many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day and will become My people. Then I will (K)dwell in your midst, and you will (L)know that the Lord of armies has sent Me to you. 12 And the Lord will [d](M)possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again (N)choose Jerusalem.

13 [e](O)Be silent, all [f]mankind, before the Lord; for He has (P)roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But (A)it shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes
And (B)see the retaliation against the wicked.
[a]For you have made the Lord, (C)my refuge,
The Most High, (D)your dwelling place.
10 (E)No evil will happen to you,
Nor will any plague come near your [b]tent.

11 For He will give (F)His angels orders concerning you,
To protect you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will (G)lift you up,
So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will (H)walk upon the lion and cobra,
You will trample the young lion and the [c]serpent.

14 (I)Because he has loved Me, I will save him;
I will (J)set him securely on high, because he has (K)known My name.
15 He will (L)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in [d]trouble;
I will rescue him and (M)honor him.
16 I will satisfy him with [e]a (N)long life,
And [f](O)show him My salvation.”
